Cordless chainsaws: compact one-hand saws for garden and tree care

A cordless chainsaw is the fastest way to cut branches, prune trees and cut up green waste. Batavia's cordless chainsaws are compact one-hand saws, also known as mini chainsaws or pruning chainsaws: light enough to use with one hand, powerful enough for branches of up to 15 cm. They run on the 18V Maxxpack or 12V Fixxpack battery, so you are never tied to a socket.

Applications

  • Tree care and limbing: remove dead, crossing or overhanging branches.
  • Pruning fruit trees and vineyards: quick, precise cuts in tight spaces.
  • Cutting green waste: saw prunings into pieces that fit the green bin or shredder.
  • Small firewood: cut thin logs and branches to length.
  • Working at height: with the optional extension pole you reach branches up to around 3 metres high.

Our cordless chainsaw range

Features to look out for

  • Rotating head (V3 models): 0° for overhead cuts, 32° for cutting downwards.
  • Brushless motor (V3 Ultra): more power, longer runtime and less wear.
  • Chain lubrication: the V3 models have a manual oil system that reduces friction on chain and bar.
  • Safety: low-kickback chains, wide handgrips, chain covers and, on the V2.2, a two-stage trigger.

Why go cordless?

A battery chainsaw starts at the push of a button: no pull cord, no fuel mix, no exhaust fumes. It is quieter than a petrol saw, lighter than most corded models and there is no cable to cut through or trip over. Because the saws are part of a battery platform, the same battery also powers your hedge trimmer, cordless pruner or leaf blower. Need a spare? See our batteries and chargers.

Frequently asked questions about cordless chainsaws

Which cordless chainsaw should I choose?

For light pruning and green waste, the 12V one-hand chainsaw (up to 120 mm) or an 18V Nexxsaw V2 (up to 11 cm) is ideal. For thicker branches and frequent use, choose the Nexxsaw 6″ V3 (up to 12 cm) or the brushless 7″ V3 Ultra (up to 15 cm). Need a pruner as well? Then the 18V Pruning Power Set is the best value.

Are cordless one-hand chainsaws safe to use?

Yes, as long as you follow the instructions and wear gloves and eye protection. Our Nexxsaw models have low-kickback chains, wide handgrips and a movable chain cover, and the V2.2 has a two-stage trigger to prevent accidental starting.

What is the benefit of the rotating head on the Nexxsaw V3?

The head adjusts between 0° and 32°. Use 0° for overhead pruning and 32° for cutting downwards, so you can work in a comfortable position at any angle. Both the 6″ V3 and the 7″ V3 Ultra have this feature.

Can I use one battery for my chainsaw and other tools?

Yes. The 18V Nexxsaw models run on the Maxxpack platform, which powers 50+ Batavia tools. The 12V one-hand chainsaw uses the 12V Fixxpack battery. Maxxpack and Fixxpack batteries are not interchangeable.

Can I prune high branches with a cordless chainsaw?

Yes. The Nexxsaw models are compatible with an optional extension pole that lets you reach branches up to around 3 metres high from the ground. The 18V Pruning Power Set includes a 1.25 m pole.

How do I maintain my cordless chainsaw?

Clean the chain and bar after each use, keep the chain sharp and, on models with manual oil lubrication, top up the chain oil regularly. Replacement chains (including titanium-coated chains) and bars are available for the Nexxsaw and the 12V one-hand chainsaw.
