Cordless hammer drills SDS+ for concrete, stone and masonry
When an ordinary drill gives up on concrete, a cordless hammer drill with SDS+ chuck takes over. Its hammer mechanism delivers far more impact energy than a combi drill, so you drill quickly and with little pressure through concrete, brick, stone and masonry. Batavia offers three battery-powered SDS+ hammer drills, also known as rotary hammers, from a compact 12V model to a brushless 18V machine that can also chisel.

- 12V Cordless Hammer Drill SDS+: compact and light, with 0.6 J of impact energy and 6,000 bpm. Switch between standard drilling/screwing and hammer drilling. With LED light, ideal for indoor renovations and tight spaces. Part of the 12V Fixxpack platform.
- 18V Cordless Hammer Drill SDS+: for screwing, drilling and hammer drilling in stone, wood and metal. Supplied with auxiliary handle and depth indicator. Not suitable for chiselling.
- 18V Cordless Brushless Rotary Hammer SDS+: the heavy-duty option with a brushless motor, 2.2 J of impact energy, up to 5,500 bpm and a drilling capacity of 23 mm in concrete. Four modes: drilling, hammer drilling, chiselling and chisel lock, plus a 360° rotating auxiliary handle.

What is the difference between a hammer drill and a combi drill?
A combi drill uses a mechanical hammer action that works for brick and masonry. An SDS+ hammer drill or rotary hammer uses a stronger hammer mechanism that delivers much more impact energy, so it drills through concrete faster and with less pressure.
Which Batavia cordless hammer drill suits my project?
The 12V Cordless Hammer Drill SDS+ is ideal for light to medium indoor jobs and tight spaces. The 18V Cordless Hammer Drill SDS+ suits general drilling in stone, wood and metal. For heavy work, larger holes (up to 23 mm in concrete) and chiselling, choose the 18V Cordless Brushless Rotary Hammer SDS+.
Can I chisel with a Batavia hammer drill?
Only the 18V Cordless Brushless Rotary Hammer SDS+ has a chisel mode and chisel lock. The 18V Cordless Hammer Drill SDS+ is not suitable for chiselling, and the 12V model offers drilling/screwing and hammer drilling.
What does SDS-Plus mean?
SDS-Plus is a standard bit holder system for drill bits and chisels. You simply push the bit in until it locks, without a key or tools. It holds the bit securely and transfers the hammer energy efficiently, and SDS-Plus bits are widely available.
Which batteries fit the cordless hammer drills?
The 12V Cordless Hammer Drill SDS+ uses the 12V Fixxpack battery. Both 18V models use the Maxxpack battery, which fits 50+ Batavia tools. The platforms are not interchangeable.
How do I keep my hammer drill in good condition?
Clean the SDS chuck and bit shanks after use to remove dust, use sharp bits suited to the material, let the tool do the work instead of pushing hard, and store it dry and dust-free.
