Which cordless pruning tool do I need?
It depends on branch thickness. For twigs and branches up to 30 mm, a cordless pruner such as the 18V Nexxcut gives the cleanest cut. For thicker wood, choose a one-hand chainsaw: the Nexxsaw models cut 11 to 15 cm, the 12V mini chainsaw up to 120 mm. For mixed jobs, the 18V Pruning Power Set gives you both.
Can I prune high branches without a ladder?
Yes. The Nexxsaw models are compatible with an optional extension pole, and the 18V Pruning Power Set includes a 1.25 m pole. Attach the tool to one end and the battery to the other to reach branches up to around 3 metres high from the ground.
What is the benefit of a brushless motor?
A brushless motor has no carbon brushes, so there is less friction and wear. That means more cutting power, more cuts per battery charge and a longer service life. The Nexxcut pruner and the Nexxsaw V3 Ultra both use brushless motors.
Can I use the same battery for my other Batavia tools?
Yes. All 18V tools in this collection run on the Maxxpack battery platform, which powers 50+ Batavia tools. The 12V mini chainsaw and the 12V reciprocating saw use the 12V Fixxpack platform. Maxxpack and Fixxpack batteries are not interchangeable.
How do I maintain my cordless pruning tools?
Clean blades and chains after each use and check for damage. On chainsaws with manual oil lubrication, top up the chain oil regularly and keep the chain sharp. Replacement chains and bars are available for the Nexxsaw and the 12V mini chainsaw.
