Cordless sanding: smooth results without a cable

Which cordless sander do you need?
- 18V Cordless Detail Sander: a compact, lightweight sander for edges, corners and small surfaces. Hook-and-loop sandpaper changes, an integrated dust collection box and a balanced battery position for stable handling. Also available with an 18-piece sandpaper set.
- 18V Cordless Orbital Sander 125 mm: the all-rounder for larger areas of wood, paint and furniture. Low centre of gravity, soft-grip handle, hook-and-loop pad and a dust collection bag.
- 18V Cordless Brushless Orbital Sander 125 mm: our most powerful sander, with a brushless motor for longer runtime, variable speed from 6,000 to 12,000 OPM and random orbital motion that minimises swirl marks. The dust bag can be swapped for an external dust extractor.
Tip: many jobs call for both. Use an orbital or random orbit sander on the flat panels and a detail sander (sometimes called a delta or mouse sander) for the corners the round pad cannot reach. Browse them separately in cordless orbital sanders and cordless detail sanders.

Which cordless sander is best for large surfaces?
For tabletops, doors and panels, choose a 125 mm orbital sander. The brushless model adds variable speed (6,000–12,000 OPM) and random orbital motion for a swirl-free finish, while the standard 18V Cordless Orbital Sander 125 mm is a great-value option for DIY projects.
Do I need a detail sander as well as an orbital sander?
A round orbital pad cannot reach into inside corners, tight edges and profiles. A detail sander is compact enough for those spots, so the two complement each other on furniture, window frames and stairs.
Are battery and charger included?
Each sander is available as a tool only, for users who already own an 18V Maxxpack battery, or as a set with a 2.0Ah battery and charger. The orbital sanders are also offered with a 4.0Ah battery and fast charger.
How do I keep sanding dust under control?
Every sander in this collection has built-in dust collection: a box on the detail sander and a bag on the orbital sanders. The brushless orbital sander can also be connected to an external dust extractor. Always wear a dust mask when sanding paint or hardwood.
Can I use the same battery in other Batavia tools?
